I absolutely love giving away these Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Spa Baskets! I truly hope my winners are able to enjoy theirs as much as I've been able to enjoy mine. Happily, I still have one more to give away this week.
To read more about what's in the basket, please check out
this post.
If you've been along for the ride and already know, just answer this simple question to be entered in the giveaway:
For fun, what "fiber-enhanced" product have you been afraid to try or have tried and it flopped? For my family, that would be whole wheat pasta. We just can't adapt. But we do love the enriched white kind! (e.g. Ronzoni Smart Taste)
Hmmm, those fiber drink things are pretty scary to me!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say it is fiber enhanced but I just cannot stand Lima beans and Okra.. and they are veggies and high fiber but the texture.. ewwww it just skeeves me OUT! I would rather eat woood! YIKES

Grapenuts Cereal--I was afraid I might break a tooth.
ReplyDeleteI've tried cooking with fiber1 cereal like Hungry Girl says to do, but I can never get it to work quite right.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, the fiber1 bars are incredible!!!!
I know it's kind of a cop-out, but I totally agree on the whole-wheat pasta thing. It's never quite right. Some brands are better than others, but when I can taste the chewy, cardboardiness of the pasta over the richness of my sauce, it does not work for me. Like you, though, I've had great luck with the enriched white pasta. And it makes me feel a little better for not doing the whole-wheat thing. Thanks for the giveaway! katisknowland(at)gmail(dot)com.
ReplyDeletePancakes. Are they grainy and not fluffy?
ReplyDeletei tried tortilla shells and they were quite bland - haven't tried much else because of that.
ReplyDeleteI tried whole wheat pasta one time, and my husband was not impressed at all. It was a no-go. I'm afraid to try the basic bran cereals - the ones that look like rabbit pellets. I love the new Fiber One cereals, but the original one scares me!
ReplyDeleteMy husband grumbles everytime I try to serve him hamburgers on whole wheat buns or if I cook with whole wheat spaghetti--I tell him that it's healthier for us and our preschooler but he says some things should be sacred! So, needless to say we get our fiber and our whole grains from other sources.

If you have Safeway grocery stores I would suggest their Organics whole wheat pasta--It does not taste like card board and in casseroles my husband even likes it better than traditional.
ReplyDeleteand Annette you MUST heat your grape nuts in the milk so it soaks in good (and of course add a bit of sweetness) and then it's YUMMY!!
We have not had much luck adjusting to whole wheat pizza crust---blech--I agree with anon's hubby that some things are just sacred and pizza dough is one.
I've tried the fiber sugars. I don't see much of a difference. I guess you have to use more than one pack.

Yep, definitely the pasta. Although, I do like some more than others. I don't like whole wheat pasta if it's a thicker noodle. I can do whole wheat angel hair, but that's it.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if it was a flop because I liked them so much ... but I had way TOO many Fiber One granola bars on vacation because they were so yummy and I didn't no what they were. Let's just say they made me a little sick :).

I received some samples of All-Bran pink lemonade mix, and it is still sitting on my kitchen counter waiting to be tasted. Somehow it doesn't seem like lemonade should contain fiber. But I'll have to be brave and try it, and perhaps I'll love it!

I've been intimidated by Fiber One yogurt because I'm worried it won't taste as good as regular stuff, but I know it will be healthier.

We haven't converted to brown rice but toddler used to eat it plain with lentil beans for a complete protein!
