Asking My Wise Readers...
Just a quick note to say I may be a tad scarce today and tomorrow. For the first time EVER for me during a pregnancy, I have caught a whopper of a cold. I'll be the first to admit that I am usually (blessedly) healthy and only catch a cold every other year or so. But when I do? It usually progresses to either RSV or pneumonia. I'm an "all or nothing" kind of person when it comes to illness!
If you didn't know this about me already, let me just tell you that I tend to avoid ALL medications when pregnant, even Tylenol. I treat headaches with ice packs and sore throats with peppermint tea. That being said, this little bug is wiping the floor with me. Any suggestions for ways to conquer this cough? Or at least keep it at bay long enough to sleep a bit? I sure appreciate the help!
And I'll try to be back on track very, very soon...

Hot Lemon tea with a little bit of honey always works for me to soothe a cough caused it coats the throat. My mom used to get a teaspoon on honey and just eat it and let it coat and it always helped her. Feel better soon!

I always go for a shot of Jack Daniels, but I guess thats worse than Tylenol, isn't it? Plenty of sleep, and feel better!
Yuck. So sorry you're feeling crummy. I don't have much help for you, but we do love our netti pot for congestion.
Steam to clear out the gunk and honey in water or tea. It moisturizes.
I used a ton of nasal spray with my cold. It keeps the passages moist.
oh...saline spray to be exact.
Someone's already said it, but saline nasal spray is all I have to offer. That, and a bit of sympathy; I was sick for about a month in the middle of my pregnancy, and it was NOT FUN!
I have been blessedly healthy this pregnancy even when my toddler had a 3+ week cold. But in my first pregnancy I had a never ending cold and I found (gross I know) that drinking a steaming mug of beef bullion cube made my throat feel so much better and helped clear the sinuses. Also spicy Jambalaya helped clear me out too.
Good Luck finding a remedy that makes you feel better!!
